The United Kingdom is just that – a kingdom uniting four distinct peoples: the Scots, the Welsh, the Northern Irish and the English. The following chapter will focus on how this union came to be and what kind of future it may have. As we shall see, in this increasingly interconnected world there are also forces encouraging greater separation. How far can this go?
